Whatever your passion is, do it. As a little kid, I wanted to be two things— I wanted to be a cop, and I wanted to drive a truck. Well, after I left the Air Force, I worked for the sheriff’s department until 2001, and then started driving a truck.

My parents, my grandparents, my great grandparents all made me a better person. They taught me respect, honesty, truth. Self-worth, and putting God first. I’m straight forward. I don’t play games. I treat you the way that I want to be treated. I respect you. I’ve tried to instill that with my 3 boys. They’re 21, 19, and 16. I always tell them ‘follow you dream’. You can have a good job, but if you’re not satisfied doing that job, you’re wasting time. If you don’t do what your heart desires, you’ve pretty much wasted your life.
I’ve been doing this trucking gig for 37 years. When I first started everyone hauled stone and you worked your way up. Tanking was considered to be top of the line. Now it’s hard to get people wanting to do tanks which I’ll never understand. There is a lot of opportunity in tanking and honestly anyone can do it and can do pretty well with it too.
